In youth ministry often you run into leaders that are opposed to helping and working together for the common good. It is really crazy to think we can accomplish great things when we act more like silos instead of working together.

Although today I meet with some leaders that are breaking that way of thinking. We talked about how we can give what we know to form a team to plant a student ministry at a church that does not have one. It was so cool to see that we all bring different things to the table and really create a stronger front when we work together. So I am really encouraged for this student ministries plant. Get ready students in Sturgis, SD I am believing God to do some big things.

I want to encourage you to break through the hindrances you might have and be part of a team. It will stretch you, influence others, and add to the Kingdom. I would love to hear some of the ways you are working to be part of a team in your community.

Today was “See You At The Pole” wednesday.  I have really been excited for this day for the past few days. We had a good start with students turning out to the poles in our city.  Although I did have a few thoguhts about some of the things I noticed today;

1. I was really proud of some of my students as they made it and lead the students at our pole.  It was exciting to see one of my students not only lead but encourage some students nearby to join in and pray with them.  WOW Others matter and she gets it.

2. People are always watching or listening!  I was sitting near the pole and heard some young ladies cussing pretty loudly, They must have just learned how cause it was awkward.  I was beginning to pray for them when all of sudden one of the friends came up and ask them where they where going when they dropped the bomb.  “We are waiting for “Name of Friend” so we can pray at the pole.  I was like WHAT! But then God spoke to me and said always preach the word and holiness, and that someone is always listening or watching so you cant fake being a Christian.

3. I rseally hope we can reach our campus this year.  Because I really see the need in the eyes of the students.  That is my prayer this year, and we are working towards that in some pretty big ways.  I hope to share them in the coming months.

Well tonight is the See You After the Pole Rally, and I hope there is a good turnout. If you are in the Rapid City, SD area tonight and are in grades 6-12 grades i hope to see you there.  Click here for Directions.
